India in a Bottle
Artisanal perfumery celebrating Indian ingredients and stories. From chai-infused musks to coastal florals, every scent is a love letter to India.
Started in a small studio in Bandra, Bombay Perfumery was born from founder Manan Gandhi's frustration with Western-centric perfumery. Why were all luxury scents about French lavender and Italian bergamot, when India has tuberose, vetiver, and jasmine sambac? The breakthrough came with 'Chai Musk'—a perfume that smelled like Sunday mornings in Mumbai homes. It sold out in hours. Today, Bombay Perfumery is the go-to for Indians seeking scents that feel like home. Their 'Seven Islands' fragrance, inspired by Mumbai's original seven islands, has been featured in Vogue and Conde Nast Traveller. Each perfume is hand-blended in small batches, with ingredients sourced from across India—Kannauj attars, Mysore sandalwood, Himalayan florals.
"India has the world's richest perfume heritage. We're just bringing it forward."
